Initial Thrust Areas:

While the Faculty’s focus areas within robotics will evolve with time, its initial thrust leverages the broad expertise of its faculty fellows. In particular, special attention is being paid to areas such as:

  • Planning, learning and control of mobile and humanoid robots in single and multi-robot contexts
  • Human-robot interaction
  • Engineering of mobile and humanoid robots, and their sensors as driven by applications
  • Applications of robotics to biomedicine and healthcare, as pedagogical tools in education, for reconnaissance, in entertainment theatre and in manufacturing. Other applications will also be explored.
